Metal Scavengers and different types of metal scavengers

Metal scavengers enable you to remove and recover many bases, heavy and precious metals from aqueous and organic solutions.

 There are many industries that use precious metals in their processes, either as a catalyst preparation or as refining feed. All of these have requirements for metal recovery either for product purity, recovery of metal values, or where legislation drives the residual metal limits. Many technologies already exist across these markets to recover the metal including crystallization in the pharmaceutical industry, chemical reduction and precipitation in refinery applications and incineration in bulk chemical applications. Problems can be encountered with all of these such as loss of valuable product, loss of metal value and shipment of hazardous materials. Sometimes the metal levels are so low that only metal scavengers can recover the value. Scavenging offers a quick solution, meeting the customer's requirements in a one-step process, alleviating many of the issues listed above.


 There are different types of  Metal scavengers . They are

 1. Quadra Pure & QuadraSil metal scavengers:

 Quadra Pure and QuadraSil metal scavengers offer a variety of complementary solutions for efficient removal and economic recovery of precious metal contamination from products and organic or aqueous process streams. In this we have to done Polymer and Silica-based Metal Scavengers and Carbon-based Scavengers for Trace Organics.

 2. SiliaBond Metal Scavengers: SiliCycle has developed a new look and a new brand for our Metal Scavengers. These products, known as SiliaBond Metal Scavengers, are now named SiliaMetS with a new color code. SiliaBond DMT is the silica bound equivalent of 2, 4, 6-trimercaptotriazine. It is a versatile metal scavenger for a variety of metals including Pd, Pt, Rh, Ru, and Ni under a wide range of conditions and the preferred metal scavenger for ruthenium catalysts. 3. Smopex Pharma Grade Metal Scavengers: The Smopex fibre family developed based on their unique grafting technology for use as metal scavengers from aqueous and organic media. Due to their unique structure - thin fibres with externally grafted functional side chains - scavenging kinetics are often very rapid, particularly in comparison with conventional bead technology, where diffusion limits the rate of removal. 4. Quadra Pure EcoGrade Scavengers:

 Eco Grade Quadra Pure offers equivalent performance to the Phama Grade products, but are classified as non-hazardous for shipping due to change in the manufacturing process. This process has been modified to reduce the environmental impact of the products by using water rather than an organic solvent. Supplied either water-wet or dried from water and fully QC tested, Eco Grade Quadra Pure offers reliable, economic and advanced metal recovery down to very low ppm levels.

 5. Deloxan Metal Scavengers:

 There are several methods for removing heavy metal contaminants, the classic approaches being distillation, crystallization and chromatography. However, there are many cases where these methods are not applicable because they are too time-consuming or expensive, or result in undesirable loss of valuable product. Deloxan Metal Scavengers offer an attractive solution to many problems relating to transition metal removal and precious metal recovery. 6. Boiler Catalyzed Oxygen Scavengers: Boiler oxygen scavengers are of various types depending upon the type and capacity of the boiler. These can be based on catalyzed sodium sulfite, catalyzed potassium sulfite, catalyzed sodium bisulfite, catalyzed hydrazine hydrate, carbohydrazide etc 7. Aquamet E, M & T Series Metal Removal for Wastewater: Aquamet E and M are dithiocarbamic acid salts designed for efficient use as metal precipitation agents. The Aquamet E is sodium diethyl dithiocarbamate while Aquamet M is sodium dimethyl dithiocarbamate. Aquamet T is a trithiocarbamate based formula. These products provide a cost effective means of removing heavy metals when used as a part of a waste water treatment program. They remove the metals like copper, nickel, Zink, Chromate, Silver, Cadmium, Lead and Mercury.
